WHO ARE WE?

OUR EDUCATIONAL STRATEGY

We are made up of individuals from many different fields, some of us are students, youths, working professionals, engineers, mathematicians, technologists, scientists, chemists, physicist, doctors, teachers, developers, makers, innovators, inventors, electricians, and basically anyone whose seeking to learn something that can help them get ahead in their profession, or simply to improve themselves in a particular area of science, technology, engineering or math. We are a community of learners, educators, and professionals seeking to "pay it forward" by sharing our experiences, ideas, and knowledge with others who seek it.

By equipping you with the necessary practical, hands-on knowledge, you will not only stay relevant right now but also be relevant in the near future.​

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

We believe in the power of "Paying It Forward". When we provide free access to high-quality educational content using the various lab series, that is giving back to the people who can actually learn something and further themselves in life. Skills development programs are not new and in many cities and countries around the world, you can find some variation of such programs designed to help those who have lost their jobs to get trained and equipped with something else so that they can continue to seek employment. At onlinelabseries, we do not want to just train you in any skills, but instead, we want to focus particularly on brands which we strongly believe have a very promising future in the market/industry. By equipping you with the necessary practical, hands-on knowledge, you will not only stay relevant right now but also be relevant in the near future.​

Though onlinelabseries is really not a sales/revenue-driving platform, we believe that by showcasing the brands/companies that matter, we also help them to make their products more appreciated by others.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

onlinelabseries was started with a very simple idea in mind, to bring better, high-quality education, skills development to anyone, anywhere in the world. We believe that sharing is caring. If more of us are willing to open up and share, we have the power to evidently shape and change the world we live in.

 

Another major aspect of our philosophy lies in how we select the brands and partners to work with. Contrary to what some might think, we do not take on every brand or label that comes to us simply because they are offering to sponsor their products for a lab series with us. We select the brands we want to work with based on 2 basic principles: How relevant are they to the world/industry right now? How relevant are they in the future.

HOW WE QUALIFY OUR PARTNERS

As a trusted learning platform, the last thing we ever want is for our viewers and members to feel like they have wasted their time and energy learning about a particular brand of products.

 

Out-dated Technology/Product Knowledge

 

Many private educational institutions today, and many schools and universities around the world are still educating students in the classrooms about technologies, tools, and frameworks that are "yester-year".

 

And these people step into their new jobs/roles in a new company or their first company, they might find themselves in a situation where they now need to restart the learning cycle again.

 

Truth and fact are, trying to learn about an unfamiliar technology or product in a stressful environment only makes it even more difficult to focus on performing well.

 

And this is why at onlinelabseries, our very focus will be on emerging or currently active products, technologies, concepts, and ideas. When a person is done learning about a particular subject or product on onlinelabseries, our goal is to provide a sense of guarantee that whatever they have learned on our platform is something they can almost immediately apply in their new workplace, or wherever they are right now.

 

Relevant and Promising Brands

 

Another extremely crucial aspect of our qualifying process includes making sure that we are only partnering with brands we believe show promise in the near future as well as brands that are still evolving and adapting themselves to the market's needs and what end-users need.

 

There are many large companies that have been in a particular area of business for years, but because they fail to evolve and fail to accept change, they can potentially become obsolete overnight. And such cases happen all the time.

 

To anyone who's on the outside looking in, they will be wary about wanting to introduce or work with products that might not actually be supported tomorrow or a few weeks from now. From a technology or product creation perspective, the use of non-supported hardware/software, in the long run, can become a really major issue.

 

Why We Don't Charge Our Partners a Fee

 

One of the most common and frequent questions we will get from people is, "Why don't you charge your partners so that you can use the money to sustain the platform's operations?"

 

Here's why we don't do that...

 

Firstly, we never want out viewers to feel like onlinelabseries is just "another" paid marketing & advertising platform where brands can invest some money and have us saying "only nice things" about their products. By not charging our partners any fees, it also allows us to maintain the right to be totally honest about each product/software/platform that we are showcasing in any number of our lab sessions.

 

Secondly, by not charging our partners, it also shows them that if we really are interested to educate people about their products, we ourselves are also genuinely passionate and believe in their brands and products. In other words, if we say we really love a product/brand, we mean it.

Psychological studies have shown that there are many different ways that the human mind can interpret and perceive data/knowledge. What this means is that there is more than one way to go about educating people regarding certain subjects and topics. At onlinelabseries, our educational strategy can simply be summarized into two general points:

 

  1. Taking the Problem-solving Approach. In this internet age, information is at its abundance online. Anyone with a mobile device can easily go online to google or even ask Siri or Google for help with a search without typing a single word into the search widget. But the challenge with an abundance of information also is that many people don't actually really know what to do with all that information. And with the abundance, how would they be able to know which source of information is the accurate source.
     

  2. Exploring Product Use-cases/Applications. Another approach that is also widely accepted and agreed upon by many brands today, is that end-users & customers don't exactly care much for knowing what the hardware specs are for a product, or what is written on the product information page. Instead, what concerns them the most is whether or not the brand/product(s) have the ability to help them solve a particular problem, or able to help them to materialize the idea that they have in mind.

To provide better education & skills development programmes to people all over the world through our online live streaming sessions. People from all walks of life, young and old, rich or poor will have access to high-quality learning content just as if they were attending a class or course in a primary school, or in a university lab session.

 

To provide the necessary learning content, hardware, and tools free-of-charge to those that cannot afford it, anywhere in the world.

To provide engaging and immersive learning lab experiences online through the use of the best in-line live streaming services & platforms, coupled with meaningful lab exercises and hands-on projects.

 

To create a strong and vibrant community of learners and viewers that will constantly return because the online learning experience is top of the line.

OUR PLEDGE

By March 2020

If we managed to reach 1.5 million people worldwide, we will give away 500,000 iPad Pro worth US$485.8 million through the donations we have received from the public and community. (specifications equivalent to what is available right now)

 

And we will also give away 250,000 STEM & skills development kits worth US$112.5 million.

If we managed to reach 3 million or more people worldwide, we will give away 1,000,000 iPad Pro worth US$971.6 million through the donations we have received from the public and community. (specifications equivalent to what is available right now)
