Full Partnership to Bring micro:bit + Elecfreaks to OLS

Hey folks, we are really just so excited at the moment. After spending the first part of my evening speaking to the team at Elecfreaks, we have finally arrived at a partnership agreement to develop a dedicated lab series that will showcase the entire micro:bit product line. In the recent few years, we have seen micro:bit by BBC slowly inching it's way, gradually on a mission to take over the world with it's cool electronics ideas. From twitter, to Facebook and to Instagram, every single day we are flooded with some of the most amazing and original ideas that young people would put together, showing it off on social media.

From Young People to Adults Wanting to Learn About Electronics and Coding

Over the years, we have witnessed the never ceasing growth of micro:bit. From a time when most hobby makers would consider micro:bit a product for the younger generation, to right now, when you start witnessing all sorts of cool applications and projects that even adults are geeking out over. micro:bit has definitely come such a long way today.

During our brief but extremely productive conversation with the team at Elecfreaks, we have both agreed that micro:bit presents a huge potential in the near future, especially in the next few years from now. As Arduino is reaching a stage of maturity (kinda like being a teenager/young adult of sorts), micro:bit has became an abled youth, reaching the primed age to experience it's puberty stage. This is also the period of time when we can witness how a brand or series of products would hit a sudden growth spurt, similarly with brands like littleBits and MakeBlock, which we are also hoping to bring onto OLS in the near future. (Just imagine a little boy whose short before puberty and right after puberty, he would hit 2.1 metres in height)

We at onlinelabseries also believe that that is what we are going to see in the next few years. Like the very philosophy to which our learning platform was founded, we always want to showcase what is both relevant as well as promising, and micro:bit definitely fits that requirement.

Something for Educators & Learners

With this dedicated lab series, we do realise that content-wise, there is just so much potential. Right after the article was released, we decided that we needed to come back and update the content with this section. When you work with products and brands like micro:bit, or MakeBlock, or littleBits, you will find that there are two possible paths we can create within this lab series. One path is for the learners themselves, as well as another path to help other micro:bit educators, or whoever is thinking about becoming a micro:bit educator.

These separate learning paths will each have their benefits. From an educator's perspective, you will be able to learn more about some of the tips and tricks that you can do to make your workshops more interesting. We will explore how you can more effectively deliver your workshop content to the students that are attending. More information regarding the educator's track for micro:bit will be shared at a later time.

From a pure learner's perspective, you will get to understand how to maximise micro:bit in your own experimentations and self-education. As you follow along with our lab series, we will help you to become a master at micro:bit's products.

Thank You Elecfreaks

Thanks to the full support from Elecfreaks, we will now be able to bring the full force of micro:bit to OLS. And we know without a doubt, that this dedicated lab series which focuses on micro:bit is going to be one of the most watched lab series ever, as well as in terms of no. of replays thereafter.

At onlinelabseries, we want to officially welcome Elecfreaks as one of our brand partners, thank you so much for believing in us as well as believing in our vision and mission.
